We went to the Boiler Room to find out where the smoke came from. Mr Anderson showed us the coal and he was very nice. Coal makes the fire go. It is really black and dusty. Coal comes from under the ground. Some of us got really dirty hands from touching the coal. Pipes are connected to the boiler and go into our classrooms. The water boils and makes our heaters hot to keep us warm in winter.

Southern Stars Tiki Tour
We went to see the younger kids who go to Southern Stars. We read to them nicely and shared our awesome reading. We read to some of the teachers too. Some of us used to go to Southern Stars before we started school so it was really fun and great going back to visit.

Fiordland Kindergarten Tiki Tour
Today we went to Kindy to read some books to our friends. We had great fun seeing our friends and old teachers again. We felt really happy sharing our stories with them. It was great to have a play with our friends who are going to be coming to school soon. Room 8 are great 'bucket fillers' by being kind and caring to the younger children.
Trout Observatory and DOC centre Tiki Tour
We went to the Trout Observatory and we saw rainbow trout and brown trout. We saw fresh water crayfish too. It costs $2 to get in and we had to push the bar to get in. We counted nine trout. Then we went to the DoC centre and saw a model of a big ship, a map, a Kakapo and a Takahe with two eggs.
